Over the last twenty years, we have successfully marketed and licensed over three hundred feature films throughout the world in all media. In addition to film, we have had success with television series in the family space. We producedthe hit tween show “Flight 29 Down" for NBC and Discovery Kids/The Hub, and sold the series to major broadcasters throughout the world. Cartoon Network launched their Boomerang Channel in Latin America with our series. Our live action kid’s show “The Wannabes” premiered on Starz Familyin the US and wasHBO Family Latin America’s number one show. We also produced several animated series, including “Ape Escape” based on the Sony Playstation Game for NickToons with Frederator Studios (“Fairly Odd Parents”) and the recently completed “Guardians of the Power Masks.”

Company heads David Jackson and Shauna Shapiro Jackson were previously the co-founders of the worldwide distribution company, Curb/Esquire Films (currently Curb Communications), where they also served as President and Executive Vice President, respectively. Further, they served as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer and Vice President Production and Acquisitions, respectively, of Curb/Musifilm whose partners included Universal Pictures. Amongst other things, Curb/Musifilm developed and co-produced"sex, lies and videotape," which won the Cannes Film Festival for Best Picture (the Palme D’Or).
In addition to distribution,Jackson and Shapiro Jackson have been producing over the past 20 years. They initially produced several films for RCA/Columbia (ultimately Columbia/Tristar)with Morgan Mason ("sex, lies and videotape"), John Hardy (“Ocean’s Eleven,” “Erin Brockovich”) and Jason Clark (“Stuart Little”) to fill the demand for RCA/Colombia’s home video line. Most recently they Produced the feature film “You May Not Kiss The Bride,” starring Katharine McPhee, Rob Schneider, Kathy Bates, Mena Suvari, Dave Annable and Vinnie Jones, Executive Produced “Flight 29 Down” for NBC/Discovery Kids, were instrumental in helping the producers of “The Wannabes” get their hit TV show made and more.
Further, both Jackson and Shapiro Jackson started out as attorneys specializing in the area of Entertainment. Prior to establishing and building Curb/Esquire Films, Jackson served as an attorney at Capitol Recordsand was then recruited by MCA Recordswhere he served as the Vice President of Business Affairs. Thereafter, Jackson went into the private practice of law where he represented recording artists, record and film producers and film distribution companies. Shapiro Jackson began her career as an in-house attorney for a production/distribution company where she dealt in all aspects of film production and distribution, and where she first established her strong relationships in the international film community.
Accordingly, our team is helmed by seasoned executives with excellent reputations and relationships and who are astute at negotiating deals on the producer’s behalf. Further, the acquisitions team includes Cara Goldstein, a Canadian native with a distinctive eye for quality, yet commercial, films who has been with the company virtually since its inception and has been responsible for acquiring many of the company’s top selling features. Director of Acquisition, Gayle Sherman Hooker, comes from the world of production and development having worked with such producers as Sherry Lansing and Academy Award winning director William Friedkin. Lori Doherty Beecomes from the production world (“Sex and the City,” “Entourage,” “Shameless”) andTammy Apanabrings over 20 years of production experience having worked with various studios such as Sony, Universal and MGM and now works in development and production for the SC Group. Most recently, the SC Group joined forces with a major online digital distributor majority owned by Sony with industry-leading technology and operations operating in more than 29 global markets for its newly formed music and audio division, SC Global Music, and the worldwide digital distribution, marketing, technology, media encoding, and metadata management of its filmed content. This partnership will amplify the SC Group’s product reach and revenue across hundreds of digital and mobile outlets around the world. This Multi Channel Network (MCN) is one of the largest MCNs in the world with over 50 billion lifetime views from every single country in the world, which will allow SC Global to maintain a comprehensive digital distribution services in music and video.
The SC Group has also launched Rockit Press (www.RockitPress.com), a boutique hybrid book publishing company that can help authors get published, and have their books available both online and in brick and mortar stores. With Rockit Press, an author’s book will be available through its distributors for purchase by over 39,000 global booksellers around the world including the big chains, the smaller chains, independent bookstores, local niche retailers, online stores, e-book retailers, libraries, schools, universities and just about anywhere that sells books in any format. Moving into the world of print developed out a passion for books, and the desire to find books with potential for film and television adaptation.
